Property description

 Boma

  Starting at the boma, which
is mainly for catching and the handling small game. This area is approximately
0.8 ha in size and is divided into three camps.

0.4 ha are 2 camps of 0.2 each and 0.4 is the
3rd camp.

The boma is made of 8” x 110mm pipes of which the wall is 5/6mm and 3 m high.

The middle camp is a 0.4ha
bush camp. Roads and white buffalo as well as Smuts finger grass are sown.
There are four tap points that spray a radius of 35m with the cannon or nozzle.
Four lanes in the camp lie from south to north and irrigate the entire camp.
Roads and white buffalo as well as Smuts finger grass are sown. There are four
tap points that spray a radius of 35m with the cannon or Opmus. Four lanes in
the camp lie from south to north and irrigate the entire camp. The entire farm
is fenced with game fence, 27 wires and 2.4m high steel wire. There is also an
electric fence on the outside separate from the 27 lines and is 7x 2.4m high.
Galvanized screen wire is stretched 1m high from the bottom and lies 200mm to
the outside to prevent jackals and warthogs from getting under the fence. On
the eastern side of the farm there is a line buried with sprinklers standing
upright to serve as fire prevention.
The bush consists of Sweet Thorn/ Karel Plum leaf or Wag n Bietjie and Raisen Bush.

  The Big camp.

  Mainly for grazing and
divided into 2 camps. Blue buffalo and Reds, kukuya, and 40 Raisin bushes have
been planted which are covered with wire mesh to prevent the red buck from
eating the leaves before they are fully grown.

This camp is 1.44 ha and has an underground main line with above ground sprinklers. All the camps have
feeding troughs.
The borehole delivers 17000lt per hour and also supplies the boma with water. Winter, the sprinkler is
opened in the evening and 10mm of water is sprayed to keep the grass wet.

  Camp 3

The camp, which is laid with cultivated grass and KP Pipes, is movable above ground. A start has been made
to lay a mother line of 140m over the entire length of the210m on the west side
against the game wire.
Goose neck/pipes 50mm is a class 10 pipe that is buried. From them are sprinklers that come out
of the ground. 2 pipes have already been done from the mother line. A KP
irrigation system has been done. All the tapping points have already been laid.
The rest of the pipes still need to be done.

Near the store is the borehole that provides 17 000lt with a submersible pump that delivers between
60 and 86lt per hour. The hole is approximately 43m deep.

The mother line lies over the
entire farm and on the southern line 45m deep and borders the road from top to
bottom and has tapping points everywhere. The Kukuyo camp has deep red soil and
borders the Selons River, and here too, tap points have been placed every 18m.

These are the torrents that the farmers are talking about. The one used is an opmus, a self-retracting
system. You pull it out with the tractor and with the gearbox it can be pulled
in at a pace - slowly retract, then the strength decreases. 2 ha of land.

  Camp 4

3.4 ha - Oats are irrigated with the opmus. With deep red fertile soil you have a high potential with the
opmus irrigation, and the farmer can collect a very good yield there. Plant
oats and summer crops for food, it works as grazing land.

 Camp 5

7.8 ha in size – 1ha of White Buffalo grass has been planted on the eastern boundary fence. The whole lot is
arable and a type of super graze grass for the summer which is still used there
for the cattle. 370 bales of oats approximate 22kg each per ha, are collected
on any of the arable sections which improve the quality of the soil with
irrigation.

 Camp 6

1.3ha large camp on the Selons River. The boundary wire is stretched on the flood line so that the
heavy rains do not damage the wire of the farm itself.

Unfortunately, there is a part of the river that is excluded but there is a gate that you can use if you
want to visit the river. There is no plant or grazing value, just a nice piece
of land. Rows of grass and kukuyo are planted summer and winter and watered with
a drag hose system with a stake and pipe that you can move around 3x to
irrigate the cycle. Against this eastern border there are 65 pvc pipes that run
to the northern side.

3ha are set out for housing.

There is a Pre-Cast house
with 4 rooms, a zinc roof and a steel house of 3x2m, separated by a corridor
that is stretched between the plot and the rest of the farm, access to which is
only given through a gate.

The 75x75m that lies opposite
camp 2 is 220m in length and not under irrigation has its own Statia unit that
is separated from the rest of the farm.

  The Home

A large solid wooden front door greets you as you enter the solidly built brick house. The structure is solidly built and without cracks…the
thatched roof however needs to be redone and so does part of the strut/cross
battens that have given way over time. Large wooden windows give a view to the
outside and a sliding door leads out to the open veranda. The house is
approximately 500m2 and offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with spacious open plan
living areas and kitchen. The spacious veranda is 130 m2 and is enclosed with steelwork.
3 garages and a large yard.
